Ethan Emerson Bio:
Ethan grew up in Los Angeles and began playing guitar at age 13. He studied classical guitar with Mesut Ozgen at U.C. Santa Cruz, and then jazz guitar at UCLA with jazz legend Kenny Burrell and guitarist Anthony Wilson, son of legendary bandleader Gerald Wilson and guitarist for Diana Krall. During his time at UCLA he led his own jazz quintet, which performed at jazz clubs throughout Los Angeles, including the Jazz Bakery in Culver City. He was also a guitarist and vocalist for the Pangea Collective, an afrobeat group that performed at the '07 and '08 UCLA Jazz/Reggae Festivals. He began leading his own Gypsy Jazz group, The Icy Hot Club in 2010. They have performed at countless events, weddings, swing dances, and festivals, including the Las Vegas Djangofest in 2014. He also has written and recorded music for television, including two songs on CBS's hit TV show How I Met Your Mother, and a full soundtrack for Ronnie Kovach's Fishing Ventures on Fox Sports West.
